Music news doesn't wind down because of the festive season.

The last dregs of hot goss are still coming through. There are some ups, some downs, and as usual, Diplo holds a 50% sharehold. Quelle surprise.

Major Lazer head up the LIVE 100 List

Ministry of Sound announced the results of its very own Top 100 list after a six hour bonanza on Friday. With interviews from the likes of Sigma and Jess Glynne, the top spot was unsurprisingly gifted to Major Lazer, whose unavoidably brilliant ‘Lean On’ proved its worth as a year-long ear worm. You can listen back to the whole thing by downloading the app, for free, here

Benga Will Return To DJing In 2016

After a two year hiatus, Benga will return to the decks for a Tectonic hosted room at Fabric. The dubstep pioneer and one third of Magnetic Man announced in 2014 that he’d be taking a break after being sectioned due to a bipolar diagnosis. He spoke out about his experiences earlier this year, in a much praised interview with The Guardian. We look forward to welcoming him back.

Diplo Shares His Best of 2015 Mix

2015 will be remembered as the Year of Diplo. All children born this year will be forced to claim him as their star sign and in the future, all other pop music producers will be wiped from the face of history in his favour. The big man has released his final ‘& Friends’ mix of the year, squashing everything he’s rated into a two hour trap and hip hop bonanza. Calling this the year that “club music has taken over”, you can listen in here.

Rustie Cancels All Future Gigs

We’ve loved Rustie this year. Still reeling from his 2015 ‘Green Lights’ release, all fans of the notoriously shy Glaswegian were treated again to a surprise release ‘Evenifyoudontbelieve’, put out on November 5th. It’s incredibly sad to hear his most recent announcement is a personal one, as he’s tweeted that all future shows are due to be cancelled to “addiction and mental health problems”. We wish him a peaceful recovery. Catch one of our favourite releases of his below.
