Feast your eyes on these trading cards from 1996, featuring all the DJ heroes of the day

Over the weekend Pulse Radio, hit the jackpot as they unearthed some previously forgotten gems from dance music history when they stumbled across a 14 card set of superstar DJ trading cards.

The cards were apparently created by Berlin's K7Stud!o Label to promote the release of Mr C's X-Mix: The Electronic Storm mix CD. This was at a time when the idea of 'the superstar DJ' was coming to the fore and these cards no doubt help hit home the idea that certain DJs were cutting away from the pack.

It was also two years before Pokemon cards went into production, which just goes to show that dance music really has been at the forefront of a multitude of cultural trends.
