Gain a rare insight into the life and influences of Julio Bashmore in a new film about his debut album, Knockin' Boots

Since he sprung onto what was then called the 'UK Bass Scene', in 2011, Julio Bashmore's music has become ubiquitous on dancefloors across the UK, Europe and beyond. But it's only now, a full four years later, that he's ready to unveil his debut full length to the world.

Knockin' Boots will finally be released on 7th August, but if you're already bursting to hear what Julio's been up to, then you're in luck as he's just released a short film about his life and influences which features snippets from each and every track on the album.

Knockin Boots (the film) takes you on a tour of both Julio's birthplace, Bristol and his adopted home of London. Over the course of six very colourful minutes we're introduced to his friends and family, his favourite eating spots and even his dog, a chow chow called Gryff.

The film is shot in a quirky, aWes Anderson-esque style and features Julio almost as a secondary character while his influences are front and centre. It's the perfect insight into the life of a famously interview-shy artist.

Red Bull Studios will be running an exhibition about the album from 27th - 31st July and a launch party will be held at London Fields Brewery on Friday 31st July. You can enter the ballot to win tickets here.
