This year’s line-up showcases an incredible selection of world-leading DJs and live acts that make it all the more harder to pick where you want to be

No matter what you tell yourself, there is absolutely no way you can see all the acts you want to see. Overlapping set times aside, just trying to traverse the massive Heaton Park with 140,000 students and music fans charging around over the two days is a daunting task, especially without a proper plan. So here are our essential recommendations for those acts you shouldn't miss at Parklife 2015!

Wu Tang Clan – Saturday (Main Stage)

The biggest and most influential hip hop group in the world headline the main stage on Saturday. The mega-talented team of RZA, GZA, Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, U-God, Master Killa, Ghostface Killah and Cappadonna are returning with a new album titled A Better Tomorrow towards the end of the year – it simply cannot be missed.

Nas performs ‘Illmatic’ – Sunday (Temple Takeover)

To celebrate the album’s twentieth anniversary, Nas has taken his sold out Illmatic tour all over the globe during the past year to enormous critical acclaim, and now it’s Manchester’s turn.

Jamie xx – Saturday (Now Wave)

His debut album In Colour comes on the back of an incredible six year creative period which has seen him alternate effortlessly between his role as founding member and producer of The xx and creator of more dancefloor club hits as Jamie xx. His DJ skills are second to none and this set will be well worth seeing.

Ben UFO & Pearson Sound – Saturday (Resident Advisor)

The in-demand Hessle Audio pair find themselves returning to Parklife for a 2nd year running on the RA stage. Expect a dark, edgy and experimental set that will cover the whole spectrum of dance, I personally can’t wait!

Nicolaas Jaar (DJ Set) – Saturday (Now Wave)

Having recently sideparted his Darkside project with Dave Harrington, Nicolaas is back with his first solo EP in four years – so this would be a perfect time to catch some new material. Entitled Nymphs II, the 12-inch, 15-minute record contains two songs: “The Three Sides of Audrey and Why She’s All Alone” and “No One is Looking at U”.

DJ EZ – Sunday (Temple Takeover)

As a DJ he is considered one of the best in the game and having been spinning garage for almost 20 years, it is safe to say his music is still doing the talking. Check out his legendary boiler room set below to get a taste of what to expect!

Henrik Schwarz (Live) – Saturday (Resident Advisor)

Henrik Schwarz’ live sets are nothing short of outstanding. He constantly pushes the boundaries with what is achievable in an hour set and this one is bound to go off!

Jackmaster – Saturday (Resident Advisor)

Whether its house, disco, techno or funk – Jackmaster has more weapons in his bag than just about any other DJ out there. He’s been played at just about every festival known to man so his experience speaks for itself – he’s everywhere!

Dub Phizix & Strategy – Saturday (Ram)

Manchester local legends Dub Phizix & Strategy will be tearing up the Ram stage this year. The pair know how to entertain the masses and if you’re into your drum & bass they are definitely the pick of the bunch on Saturday.

Randall vs Dillinja (A.W.O.L.) – Sunday (Temple Takeover)

An ambassador for Jungle since its conception, Randall is held in the highest esteem across the genre as one of the finest DJ’s to ever rinse out an Amen break. Joined by one of the all time greats, Dillinja, this all looks set to be a stomach churning showcase of the full spectrum of jungle and DnB. A rare back to back that has to be seen!
