With sneaker themed artwork, our new compilation Old Skool holds the keys to your inner nostalgia freak

With tracks from the likes of Missy Elliott, Kenny Dope and Sky FX, it's three CD's of nutty anthems. With trainers at the forefront of its creative vision, we took a look at the creps that your favourite DJs have been wearing while they're playing your Old Skool anthems.

A-Trak

He’s called the Air Jordan 3 the best sneaker ever created and has even produced a song dedicated to his love of the sports shoe. A-Trak’s a serious sneakerhead, able to hold down a conversation on brands and model of shoe just as easily as music. Re watch A-Trak's genre bending set from Ministry of Sound right here.

Barely Legal

Barely Legal rocks a sports two piece when she’s behind the decks with the same amount of panache as Stormzy, but it’s her shoe collection we’re most envious of. Girl’s got Adidas on tap.

Tiësto

Look at these monstrosities.

Thankfully these Reebok produced Tiësto trainers were short lived, being sold for a short but forgettable time in 2013.

Skepta

The grime resurgence brought with it a new obsession with UK sportswear. Stormzy’s bright red Adidas, Novelist’s all black Nike trackies. Skepta appeared on the catwalk for Nasir Mazhar, leisure-to-lux wear don, a musical and cultural hero for the brand.

Skepta’s gone one further and collaborated with Nike, on an all noir pair of trainers that will no doubt be in highest demand when they’re released. Get a load of Skepta and the rest of the Boy Better Know gang on our Grime Time CD.

Monki

Highlighting the struggle of being a DJ whose somewhat shorter in stature, Monki’s crate-behind-the-decks snaps always show off what creps she’s got on to play a set. A trusty Air Max normally seems to do the trick.

Martin Garrix

Complex took Martin Garrix shopping as an EDM correspondent for sneakerland. Turns out he started off as a Fly Knit fan, but moved onto Air Max Zero’s, because people seem to talk more about them than his music in Instagram comments.

Sam Divine

A champion of the chunkier Nike variety, Defected’s Sam Divine loves her box fresh shoes, using Instagram to humble brag about her new purchases. Come down and see Sam's shoes for yourself when she plays at Defected on Saturday 2nd of April.
