Yesterday Paul Oakenfold, DJed at what's been dubbed 'the highest party in the world'

No it wasn't a 4AM slot at Bangface Weekender, Paul was playing a DJ set at Everest Basecamp.

The original superstar DJ trekked 17,000 feet above sea level to become the first DJ to play tunes at the world's most famous campsite. Paul was raising money for to help survivors of the 2015 Nepal earthquake.

The gig took place on the 30th anniversary of the infamous Ibiza trip, which saw Paul, Nicky Holloway and Danny Rampling bring dance music back from the balearics.

Talking to press after the gig, Paul said; "After two years in planning, we have just completed SoundTrek, the party at the top of the World on Mount Everest’s Base Camp [while] raising money for four charities in the process," Paul said in a statement. "We have also supported the local talent and given the local community the DJ equipment supplied by Denon for the event."

The event was broadcast on Facebook Live, but unfortunately the person in charge of filming did a pretty awfulD job. History it seems is made in the wrong aspect ratio. But don't despair as there's to be a full-fledged documentary and a live album from the event, so hopefully we'll get a better look at such a momentous occasion soon.
