Cedric Gervais has rustled up an exclusive 30 minute mix to celebrate the release of "Somebody New", his latest single featuring British singer, Liza Owens.  

 

 

First off, thanks for doing this exclusive mix for us, tell us about the mix, what is the vibe?

I tried to build a set that would reflect what you can expect to hear when you see me play live.

 

Is there any standout track on their you can’t wait for us to hear?

Definitely, my record "Touch The Sky" with Digital Farm Animals and Dallas Austin. It’s been getting such amazing reactions since it came out in April, it’s for sure a party starter and I’m really proud of it.

 

Where in the world are you right now and what are you doing?

Right now I'm in Ibiza at my good friend David Guetta's house, enjoying some time off and working on some new music!

 

What do you have planned for the summer?

Aside from my time off, I’ve also got tons of shows throughout Europe this summer - playing Tomorrowland both weekends for my first time, lots of Ibiza shows, I’m very excited.

 

You started out at a very young age, how did you make the leap into music?

I started out when I was 13 years old. I was going to record shops looking for music, then taking it back to my grandmother’s house and practicing mixing for six hours a day in her basement.

 

You’ve had so many big moments in your career so far, what’s been your personal highlight?

I know it’s the obvious answer, but winning a Grammy was really unreal. I didn’t make my remix of Lana’s song with the intention of it being so huge, I just made a song that I hoped my DJ friends would play in their sets and that I could play at the club, but it took off and it was such a huge honour to win. I’ll never forget it.

 

Do you have anything left to cross off your musical bucket list, any particular aspirations?

Of course, for me it doesn’t matter how far I go with my music, I’m always looking forward to the next step, the next level. There are lots of artists I’d still love to work with, and some I’m already working with that I can’t talk about yet, but I’m always looking for the next thing and the thing after that. I make the music I want to make and the sound I want to hear and nothing else, so as long as I can keep doing that then there’s always more work for me to do!

 

One of your most well known songs was about looking for Molly in a club, did you ever find her?

Hahahaha no I’m still looking for her, she is very hard to find!
