Earlier today a BuzzFeed report emerged detailing accusations against singer R. Kelly involving the running of an 'abusive and controlling sex cult'.

It is rumoured that the 50 year old is brainwashing women and holding them captive against their will. The aspiring female musicians are supposedly living in a series of houses in Atlanta and Chicago, and are forbidden from using their mobile phones.

Some of the women's parents have come forward to express concerns about the young women involved, who grew close to R. Kelly in a bid to further their music career.

Since these revelations, the singer has come forward to vehemently deny all claims, with his lawyer saying he would work 'diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name'. This is not the first time the star has been accused of sexual misconduct, although he has never been found guilty.

In the BuzzFeed report, three women who were formerly part of Kelly's inner circle were interviewed and made allegations of physical and mental abuse. The family of one of the girls have sought help from the authorities in repeated efforts to bring her home however, due to the girls being over the age of consent there is no forcible way the Police can intervene.

One of the 'victims' Joycelyn Savage, 21, has come forward to refute claims and clear Kelly's name. Talking to TMZ she says “I am in a happy place with my life, and I’m not being brainwashed or anything like that,” she said, “It definitely has gotten out of hand, so I just want everybody to know that I am totally fine and I’m happy where I’m at.”

When asked if she is being held against her will or doing anything that she does not want to do, she replies, “Oh no, not at all. Never been feeling hostage or anything of that nature. Never.”
