Over the weekend London played host to the final of the DMC World DJ Championships. The competition was fierce with both the first Female US Champion, DJ Perly, and the first Maori finalist, DJ Spell making it to the final.

But in the end, the trophy went to Japan's DJ Rena, who at an astonishing 12 years old is the youngest ever winner of the Championship. The previous youngest winner was A-Trak who won the title aged 15.

A-Trak's win lead him to become the tour DJ for Kanye West, to go on to found Fool's Gold Records, team up with Armand Van Helden for Duck Sauce and to become a headline solo artist in his own right, so the future is looking very bright indeed for Rena!
