Sitting in the Tuff Questions hot seat is rising duo, NAATIONS. Formed of singer/songwriter Nat Dunn, who recently co-wrote Marshmello and Anne-Marie's "Friends", and ex Van She member and DJ, Nicky Night Time.

The duo burst onto the scene with 2017's "Alive" before collaborating with Duke Dumont and Gorgon City on "Real Life". They've just been in the UK with a headline show at Camden Assembly and a support gig with Gorgon City at Brixton Academy.

Their latest track, "Touch Me' dropped at the end of last month and it's already causing a bit of a stir on dancefloors and airwaves alike.

Describe your press shot in five words or less

Nicky – 90’s. Creepy. School Photo.

Nat – 90’s. Calvin Klein Campaign

What song would be your wrestling entrance theme?

Nat – "Take on Me" by A-Ha.

Nicky – I would probably have to say the same thing.

If House is a spiritual thing, who is its prophet?

Nicky – You’re definitely putting me into a corner there… Frankie Knuckles.

What was your first email address?

Nat – hulahuladoll@hotmail.com. I had like a Hawaiian surfing phase.

Nicky – Is it weird because mine actually still works?

What would you say in you tinder bio?

Nat – “Take on Me”

Nicky – Mine would be “Desperate”. I mean, I’m not on Tinder and I never would be on Tinder but if I was to get on it that would probably be the reason why.

Best way to cure a hangover?

Nat – Go write a song.

Nicky – Cheeseburger.

Who’s the biggest party animal in dance music?

Nicky – Fifth Amendment.

You can only ever play one record again for the rest of your life - what is it?

Nicky – "Voodoo Ray" by A Guy Called Gerald

Nat – That’s so mean! Really tough. Honestly, I’d just play The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, the whole album.

How do you describe your job to your grandmother?

Nat – She totally got it, she thought I was such a cool rager. She gets it, she completely understands it.

Nicky – My dad and my brothers still don’t get what I do. I make people happy.

What’s the most expensive thing you own?

Nicky – Myself

Nat – It was my house in Australia, but I sold it!

What does your music smell like?

Nicky – Palo Santo incense, every time we make music it’s in the background.

Nat – We’re constantly burning it in the studio so that’s definitely what our music smells like.

You can only ever DJ B2B with one other person for the rest of your life, who is it?

Nicky – Well I’ll probably have to say Sasha because he plays party stuff that’s super epic chilled shit. That’s a really big question, Sasha has been around forever.

What is she gonna look like with a chimney on her?

Nat – Pretty bloody grubby and sooty I guess.

You can only wear one colour for the rest of your life, black is not an option, what colour do you choose?

Nat – Denim. I don’t like blue, but Denim I love.

Nicky – Let’s go with Canary Yellow

You’re forming a cheesy pop group in the vein of 5ive, Steps, Spice Girls etc. You must all sing and do choreographed dance routines. Which other 3 DJs do you want in your band?

Nicky – Just to be annoying, Steve Aoki, Damien Lazarus and Paul Oakenfold

Where is the strangest place you’ve DJed?

Nicky – In a women’s toilet at a club called Honkytonks in Melbourne. The best party was always in the women’s toilet and they have decks in the bathroom. I remember I DJ’ed a party and it was, us, The Avalanches, Cut Copy, The Presets, Klaxons and New Young Pony Club, we were all in the women’s toilets until two in the morning. It was super fun, surprisingly not smelly though.

What’s your secret weapon to rescue a dancefloor?

Nicky – Anything by Reflex Revision is pretty good.

Where’s the afters?

Both - Our own club, Perri Towling for sure.
