Dance music fans rejoice! The day is finally here! Paris Hilton's five year 'Foam & Diamonds' residency at Amnesia will finally be coming to an end.

Paris's DJ career took off in 2014 when basically the entire dance music scene shuddered to find out she'd be getting $1million per gig for a four date residency at the historic super club.

The "Stars Are Blind" singer first started popping up in dance music circles when she started dating dutch producer Afrojack, but it wasn't long before she became the highest paid female DJ on the planet.

Talking to The Olive Press today, Hilton said; “I want to thank my fans for their loyalty. We have lived five wonderful years in Ibiza, a very special place for me, but that is now over. Ibiza is a magical island. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager. I feel like if I were an island, I would be Ibiza. It’s fun – the energy, the music, the people."

Despite undoubtedly being a huge commercial success, her residency has long been mired in controversy and became something of a totem for those unhappy with the increasing commercialisation of Ibiza and club culture more generally.

Her career is probably most memorable for car crash gigs, allegations of prerecorded sets, fantastical boasting and a general misunderstanding of the music she played.
