Eastern Electrics returns for another year this weekend and we can't wait. But with such a heavily stacked lineup it can be pretty difficult to figure out who to see. As EE veterans these are our picks for the weekend.
Seeing Skream throw down a banging techno set in any location is a good day out, but seeing him at Eastern Electrics is another beast entirely. Oli has a long and close relationship with the festival and is always keen to get involved in the festival's signature stunts - whether it be DJing from a rickshaw, singing along in carpool karaoke or playing live from the Natural History Museum. Skream will be programming the entirety of the Skreamizm stage, from Dennis Ferrer to Citizenn, every artist has the Skream seal of approval. This will for sure be one of the rowdiest stages on the day.
2018's Eastern Electrics isn't wanting for techno, but if you're into the darker, industrial side of it then you can do no better than Alan Fitzpatrick. Alan is a master behind the decks and with huge new track "Poison" with Skream just dropping on his label, We Are The Brave, expect some huge moments.
It almost goes without saying. On a lineup absolutely stacked with top tier talent, Jamie never fails to stand out. The Paradise and Hot Creations boss is the king of good vibes. With temperatures set to hit 30 degrees tomorrow, this will be the perfect sounds for a hot summers night.
The Dirtybird boss is a rare American among a lineup of UK greats. Claude's brand of tech house will be the perfect prescription to kick the main stage into party mode for what's sure to be an action packed day.
Over in our VIP stage we've handpicked some of our absolute favourites, Nathan Barato, Mark Jenykins, Kate Simko, The Menendez Brothers and Chris Thomas. But if his SoundOf mix is anything to go by, Waifs & Strays are going to be the unmissable act this Saturday. Their bass-inflected house masterclass will be nothing short of perfect for the Eastern Electrics crowd.
