In our new series we take a look at the biggest tunes in dance music, the tracks that go off every single time.

 

 

Stingily started off as the lead singer of hit R&B band, Ten City along with Byron Burke and Herb Lawson. Ten City were produced by legendary house producer Marshall Jefferson.

Upon going solo he topped the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart three times, most significantly with "Get Up (Everybody)".

"Get Up (Everybody)" featured a sample from disco hero, Sylvester's "Dance (Disco Heat)" and was released in 1997.

After it's initial run of success "Get Up" faded slightly, but has recently seen a resurgence with the likes of Jackmaster and Denis Sulta dropping it during high profile sets.

The song's triumphant chorus is perfect for the sort of sunset sessions that have become ubiquitous from Croatia to Cabo, which has helped fuel "the track's return to prominence in the sets of DJs around the world.

It was a classic then and it's a classic now, a certified banger, ready to go off.
