Winter is receding, the snows have thawed (literally) and the long dark months of restricted partying will soon be a distant memory spring is almost here and with it the ever-expanding festival season.

The past few weeks have been an embarrassment of riches as each and every festival unveils their first wave lineup. There are now so many festivals packed into the months from May - September that it can all get a bit overwhelming. So many artists, so many dates, so many countries, but don't worry we're here to help you make sense of it.

This year we'll be showcasing our favourite festival across three areas: home, away and unique. In this firs edition we'll be focusing on the festivals that take place across the British Isles. Some of them are inner city one-dayers, while others are trip-to-the-country week long rave ups. They all have they're one unique flavours and they're all packing a serious music punch.

 

Love Saves The Day

26th - 27th May | Bristol

Kicking off festival season with a bang, Bristol's Love Save The Day is bringing in the big guns. Fatboy Slim, Sampha, Bicep (Live), Four Tet, Floating Points, Jackmaster and The Black Madonna will be on hand across two days of house and techno.

We Are FSTVL

25th - 27th May | London

 

We Are FSTVL has gradually become one of the biggest players on the UK festival circuit. This year Andy C, Carl Cox, DJ EZ, Eric Prydz, Jamie Jones, MK, Pendulum (DJ) and Bicep will be heading up Upminster.

AVA

1st - 2nd June | Belfast

The rowdiest festival in the UK returns to a new location in Belfast. This year the part conference part massive rave will be welcoming Larry Heard AKA Mr Fingers to make his Northern Ireland debut. He'll be joined by Floorplan, Bicep, DVS1, Kink, Mall Grab, Denis Sulta, Mano Le Tough and Midland.

Field Day

1st - 3rd June | London

For the first time in it's 12 years, Field Day is moving south. Upping sticks from Victoria Park, Field Day will be bringing their range of cutting edge bands and DJs to Brixton's Brockwell Park. The lineup, as ever, is full of the most credible artists around including Erykah Badu, Daneil Avery, DJ Boring, Fever Ray, Floating Points, Helena Hauff and Daphni.

Gottwood

7th - 10th June | Wales

Situated within a forest clearing on the coast of an area of outstanding natural beauty in Anglesey, North Wales, Gottwood boasts an eclectic mix of intimate stages, stunning art installations and creative lighting projects - all centred around a mystical forest, a lake and a coastal campsite view. Featuring cutting edge sounds from Ben UFO, Crazy P, Mr Scruff, Rodrigues JR, Romare, San Proper and Special Request.

Junction 2

9th June | London

A cutting-edge techno festival under a motorway flyover you say? Count us in! 2018 will feature five stages of music including back-to-back sets from Carl Cox and Adam Beyer, Dixon and Âme and Sonja Moonear and Nicolas Lutz.

Farr Festival

5th - 8th July | July

Upgrading to a four day affair for 2018, Farr Festival will be returning to Bygrave Woods this summer. Featuring an interstellar lineup of tastemakers including Hunee, Mount Kimbie, Daphni, Moodymann, Dixon and George Fitzgerald.

Eastern Electrics

4th August | London

 

Eastern Electrics returns for another massive Saturday. This year Jamie Jones will be headlining alongside Skream, Eats Everything, The Defected crew, Alan Fitzpatrick, Claude VonStroke, Matador and a whole host of others. We'll be throwing a big rave up in the VIP too!

4th August | London

Dedicated to celebrating the roots of house music, 51st State pulls together the threads of classic house, garage, disco, soul dub and dancehall. Artists from Chicago, New York and beyond will descend on London's Trent Park including Masters at Work, Body & Soul, Soul Clap, Dimitri From Paris, Derrick May, Todd Terry and Todd Edwards.

Houghton

9th - 12th August | Norfolk

 

Craig Richards curates one of the UK's fastest rising festivals. After making one of the most successful debuts ever, they'll return with a fusion of art, music and sculpture, not to mention a 24 hour music licence! On the bill are some of the underground's favourites from Ricky V and Andrew Weatherall to Seth Troxler and Roman Flügel.

25th - 26th August | London

 

The biggest bank holiday bash in the UK is turning 15 this year and is bringing a heavy duty roster of superstars to Clapham Common. Chase & Status, Marshmello, Craig David Presents TS5, Basement Jaxx, Galantis, Dizzee Rascal, Armin Van Buuren, DJ EZ, Stefflon Don, Jonas Blue and MK.

22nd September | Leeds
