For more than 18 years SubBass Academy has trained DJs and music producers and prepared them to play for the first time in clubs. Founded on 2001 by DJ Graeme Lloyd in Shoreditch SubBass now finds its home in a purpose built 2000 square foot studio close to Westminster Bridge.
Over the years several big name artists have passed through the doors of the Academy with recent graduates including Jess Bays who has gone from strength to strength since attending the SubBass DJ Complete course and getting her foot in the door with gigs for SubBass at The Gallery, Ministry of Sound.
SubBass has a long tradition of starting careers with gigs at some of London’s top venues and has even taken students to play in Ibiza and at the SW4 festival in 2017.
But by far the longest running and most fruitful collaboration has been with The Gallery at Ministry of Sound, where SubBass has hosted the Loft on the first Friday of every month for 10 years ever since The Gallery moved from Turmills nightclub to be based at Ministry of Sound.
The relationship with The Gallery actually started at Tunmills with DJ competitions and SubBass Graduates getting the chance to grace the now legendary Turnmills decks. But since moving to MoS, The Gallery has given the opportunity for fresh talent to shine from SubBass both in the loft and then the very best DJs getting the chance to play in the 103 alongside some of the biggest names in the dance music industry.
Check out recent SubBass graduates playing at The Gallery, Ministry of Sound and if you would like to be next going from the bedroom to the main room then check out SubBass DJ courses and Music production courses.
