Just in time for the long weekend, we got Ryan Blyth to handpick ten freshly cut bangers for the very merry month of May. Get these on your mini-rigs down the park with a few fruit ciders this weekend for a blissful bank holiday.
Ryan was the first artist to release on Danny Howard's Nothing Else Matters Imprint and since then he's dropped tracks on Toolroom, Hexagon and Spinnin'. His latest is a summer smasher featuring the vocals of London songstress BB Diamond.
Ryan Blyth Feat. BB Diamond - "Raise A Glass"
Ryan: This features samba percussion and Latino piano alongside an infectious hook that samples the legendary house track "Disco's Revenge" by Gusto (itself a sample of Harvey Mason's classic "Groovin' You") to ensure that it will pack dance-floors right across the UK to Ibiza!
Michael Calfan - "Got You"
Following on from his last release, "On You", Michael Calfan delivers a follow up in the same vein. A straight up club weapon with big female vocals. I love it.
Weiss - "Feel My Needs"
This is what you call a BIG tune. It's simply House music but beautifully done. I'd like ten more just like it. Pat on the back to Weiss.
Guz x Tough Love - "Dancin' Kinda Close"
Great peak time tune with a catchy hook from Next 'Too Close'. This defiantly gets the floors moving in the right direction.
ATFC & David Penn - "Hipcats"
These two are a force to be reckoned with. Really cool 1950s style vocal hook that works a treat every time I spin it.
Ferreck Dawn & Robosonic - "In My Arms"
This is a really hot record right now. Defected picked it right with this one. Will be in my sets all summer long - very cool track.
KDA - "Warrior"
This stinks of carnivals and festivals. It's just an instrumental right now but it sure kicks with a big brass section. I'm sure KDA will add a big vocal as some point.
DJ Koze - "Pick Up"
I love a great disco track and this is just that. It's simply quality and perfect to play as the last track of the night.
ANOTR - "Let Me Tell You"
Cheekily sampling the Black Box 'Ride On Time' vocal, this one blows the roof off, especially on a day party.
BLR - "La Luna" (Festival Extended Mix)
When someone says 'Festival Mix', this delivers hard. Plus the mix is really heavy - it pumps out the speakers with really great production that tops it off nicely.
Ryan Blyth ft BB Diamond - "Raise A Glass" is out now on Columbia Records, get it here.
