One of London's most intimate festivals is back with an enormous lineup for 2018. If disco and smooth summer vibes are your thing, then Gala may just be the festival for you.
Taking place on the grassy banks of Peckham Rye Park, Gala is a one-day celebration of great music, food and drink.
The perfect way to kick off summer 2018, Gala will take place on Bank Holiday Sunday 27th May. To get you in the festival spirit, we've selected some of our favourite artists from the bill and tell you why they can't be missed.
Honey Dijon has steadily become one of the biggest DJs in the world. Her name is a byword for exquisitely crafted sets and dancefloor chaos from New York, to Paris, to London, to Ibiza. Recently teaming up with famed selector The Black Madonna at Miami Music Week for the debut of their Black Honey project, the two wowed crowds both in Miami and on BBC Radio One's Essential Mix. Honey Dijon will also be playing the official after party at Ministry of Sound for those who need to keep the party going. A double-dose of Honey Dijon? Count us in!
With over sixteen years experience in 'the business of human happiness' the Horse Meat Disco boys have entertained millions of dancers. Their flagship party takes place every Sunday night at Eagle London and is a beloved hangout of the UK's favourite tastemakers. Everyone from Artwork to Jackmaster to DJ Harvey can be found on the Horse Meat Disco dancefloor. Find out what all the fuss is about at Gala this Sunday.
His 2016 monster, "Final Credits" became ubiquitous at clubs, festivals and after parties around the world, but Midland is far more than a one hit wonder. His expertly crafted DJ sets are some of the most watched on Boiler Room and his Essential Mix was awarded Essential Mix of the Year. He'll be joining Honey Dijon at Ministry for the Afters, so you lucky things will get to see both day and night sets from this master of the decks.
One word: "Heartbreaker". Crazy P's iconic 2012 track is the perfect sound for blissed out dancing in the sun. A popular hit on Croatian beaches and Ibizan boat parties alike, we can't think of a better way to enhance the British summer than with this scorcher echoing around the grounds of Peckham Rye Park.
One of the most eclectic selectors around, Mr Scruff has one of the biggest record collections in the country, so expect to hear a genre melting explosion of exotic sounds. Known for his extended all night sets in his hometown of Manchester, Mr Scuff know how to take you on a journey like no other.
Our favourite New Zealand duo outside Flight of the Conchords, Chaos in the CBD have made their home in Peckham and greatly contributed to the local music scene. You'll often catch them playing in Rye Wax, Canavan's or Rythmn Section, so don't miss the chance to catch these (sort of) local heroes in action.
